{"id":18221,"date":"2016-02-05T09:47:17","date_gmt":"2016-02-05T07:47:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=18221"},"modified":"2016-02-05T09:47:17","modified_gmt":"2016-02-05T07:47:17","slug":"caf-c-course-in-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/02\/05\/caf-c-course-in-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Caf C Course in March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In what could be described as a glimmer of hope for some coaches, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has confirmed that it will conduct a Caf C Licence Coaching Course from March 27 in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>The course is part of the country\u2019s efforts to have a pool of highly-qualified coaches.<\/p>\n<p>Fam technical director, John Kaputa, confirmed Thursday that some Super League coaches will be enrolled for the course, whose primary target is Malawi Schools Sports Association (Massa) trainers.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes as a relief to some Super League coaches because Fam and Super League of Malawi (Sulom) indicated that only those with a Caf B or Caf A Licences would be allowed to work as head coaches in the Super League.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMassa was kind enough to provide room for Super League coaches who want to upgrade. This is good for football because it is Fam\u2019s priority that we should have highly-qualified coaches in all the leagues across the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kaputa said some of the coaches that would take part in the Caf C course next month are Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 mentor, Mabvuto Lungu Wanderers coach, Elia Kananji, and former Silver Strikers assistant coach, Peter Mgangira.<\/p>\n<p>With the league kicking off early April, the three would not be eligible to be in charge of any Super League team because they would have to wait till July when Fam shall conduct a Caf-B coaching course.<\/p>\n<p>The Caf-A coaching course is scheduled for September.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything has to go through stages. The coaches have to go through each stage to be well-equipped for football development in the country,\u201d Kaputa explained.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Malawi had a large pool of qualified coaches that Super League clubs could hire.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have 27 coaches with Caf-A Licences and 56 coaches with Caf-B Licences. The teams could largely benefit from all these coaches. If we have highly-qualified coaches in our main league, the benefits will trickle down to the national team,\u201d Kaputa added.<\/p>\n<p>Civo United, Chilumba Barracks, Dwangwa United and Bullets have reshuffled their coaching panels in observance of Caf\u2019s Club Licensing System requirement of employing highly-qualified coaches.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In what could be described as a glimmer of hope for some coaches, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has confirmed that it will conduct a Caf C Licence Coaching Course from March 27 in Blantyre.
