Big Bullets and Nyasa Manufacturing Company Limited signed officially their five-year business partnership in Blantyre during a colourful ceremony punctuated by concerns over growing vandalism of the TNM Super League defending champions\u2019 advertising billboards in the Commercial Capital.<\/p>\n
Speaking before signing the agreement with Nyasa chairperson, Konrad Buckle, Bullets chairperson, Sammy Chilunga, promised a K500,000 reward to whoever identifies individuals, who vandalised Nyasa-branded billboards in Limbe and at Chichiri Shopping Mall.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey have started a battle, but they will not finish it. We are not issuing threats, but this is true. We have already handed names of suspects to the police. We are very annoyed as we have invested millions in these billboards,\u201d Chilunga said.<\/p>\n
He added that the agreement with Nyasa hinges of key result areas of increasing Nyasa\u2019s sales, Bullets delivering the goods on the pitch and that the team should acquire assets.<\/p>\n
Bullets captain Fischer Kondowe, said with the massive sponsorship, the ball was now in the court of the players to deliver the goods.<\/p>\n
Bullets players, clad in all red, graced the occasion that also the People\u2019s Team parading new catches\u2014defenders Emmanuel Zoya, John Lanjesi from Civo United, striker Muhamad Sulumba from Blantyre United via Be Forward Wanderers, and goalkeeper, Ernest Kakhobwe from Azam Tigers. All the players have signed pre-contracts.<\/p>\n
Taking his turn, Buckle challenged Bullets players to aim higher and deliver the goods, saying the tobacco manufacturing company was determined to improve their welfare.<\/p>\n
\u201cMalawi is going through a difficult economic period, but here we are. We are a Malawian-owned company that employs Malawians. Your livehood is now my responsibility. All your problems are now mine. The sky is not the limit,\u201d Buckle said.<\/p>\n
Buckle also rewarded each player K50,000 for willing the TNM Super Legaue whereas Yamikani Fodya and winger McFarlen Ngwira received K150,000 and K100,000 each for being among the stand-out players in the 2015 season.
