A year after Nyasa Big Bullets and Silver Silvers clinched a deal with American company, Nsejjere Sports Wear, the two teams have revealed that they are yet to receive a penny from replica jersey sales.<\/p>\n
According to the agreement, each club was entitled to 25 percent or K1,500 cut per jersey sold at K6000 each, translating to K3 million for each team which got 2,000 jerseys. The price has since gone down to K4000.<\/p>\n
Silver general secretary, Chimwemwe Mkhwimba, on Tuesday said the club has not received any communication on the kit sales.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe jerseys came but we haven\u2019t got any share or to know how much was sold since we don\u2019t have distributors\u2019 rights, let alone selling the merchandise,\u201d Mabulekesi said in a written response.<\/p>\n
On his part, Bullets vice-general, Kelvin Moyo, said the deal was negotiated by the previous committee and it has been tough to follow up the issue.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a club, we tried on several occasions to remind them but we didn\u2019t succeed. Technically, we have given up and we don\u2019t know when they will give us our share,\u201d Moyo said.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday, Nsejjere local representative, Peter Mgangira, who is responsible for the kits, said the teams should not panic as they will receive their shares once the first consignment is sold out.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe expect the sales to improve once the league resumes but for now, we still have some replica jerseys. I have submitted a report to my bosses and I am waiting for the response,\u201d Mgangira said.<\/p>\n
As part of the deal, Silver and Bullets were given two sets of uniforms. Last year, Nsejjere chief operations officer, Aishah Nanfuka, said the sales were going on well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
