After not being fully active last year, hip hop artist Tay Grin real name Limbani Kalilani wants to start the year with a bang as he has finally stitched a song with Nigeria\u2019s musician 2Baba formerly known as 2Face.<\/p>\n
The musician, who in 2015 won a Black Entertainment Film Fashion Television and Arts award for Best International African Act, said on Wednesday that the track titled \u2018Chipapapa\u2019 will hit the airwaves on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe song will be out on radio on Monday next week. The beat was produced by DJ Sley,\u201d said the artist famed for the hit \u20182 by 2.\u2019<\/p>\n
He added:<\/p>\n
\u201cI have always wanted to work with 2Baba and this song seemed perfect for both of us. We met in London and I played him the song, at the time I had just recorded the chorus and once he heard it, he liked it and as they say the rest is history.\u201d<\/p>\n
Tay Grin said that he will be shooting a video of \u2018Chipapapa,\u2019 in South Africa next month.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want this video to be the best and I am excited and cannot wait to finish it so that my fans can see it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He described \u2018Chipapapa,\u2019 as a good song which is a blend of Nigerian and Malawian culture.<\/p>\n
We have both used childhood songs to bring out elements of our childhood. But all in all it\u2019s a feel good celebration song,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Tay Grin said through the song he wants Malawi to shine in 2016 and that once the song is out, he will run a variety of competitions and called on people to stay tuned.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did say I was coming up with something great in 2016 and so this is just the beginning and the countdown has started,\u201d said Tay Grin.<\/p>\n
The musician, who has two albums to his credit namely Proudly African and Nyau King said \u2018Chipapapa,\u2019 is part of a compilation of his incoming album and that he will be releasing six major songs ending up with an album.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are about to put Malawi on the table with the big boys of music. 2016 is the year Malawi shines. We need every Malawian to stand proud behind their artists and with one voice we change the industry forever,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
This is not the first time Tay Grin has collaborated with other international artists.<\/p>\n
Among others, the artist has collaborated with The Very Best in the song titled \u2018The Beach,\u2019 and also Zimbabwe\u2019s Buffalo Souljah in the songs \u2018Oga Oga,\u2019 and My Type of Guy.\u2019<\/p>\n
