TNM Super League defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, have joined the race to sign burly striker Muhamad Sulumba, effectively putting themselves on collision course with rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, where his loan deal has expired.<\/p>\n
Bullets are targeting four senior players on the domestic transfer market, but the club\u2019s vice-general secretary, Kelvin Moyo, on Tuesday feigned ignorance on their interest in the Blantyre United-owned Sulumba.<\/p>\n
However, Malawi News has stumbled on a letter Moyo wrote to United on January 11, 2016, seeking the services of the big centre forward who has a goal in three Flames appearances.<\/p>\n
\u201cBig Bullets FC would like to purchase Muhamad Sulumba permanently from Blantyre United FC during the transfer window which opens on 14th January 2016. Advise on price and any other issue that may arise pertaining to this deal,\u201d Moyo wrote.<\/p>\n
Bullets\u2019 interest in last season\u2019s leading scorer for Wanderers comes three weeks after the Nomads, through general secretary, Mike Butao, also wrote United seeking a permanent transfer of Sulumba and left-back Ted Sumani, whose loan has also expired at the Lali Lubani Road.<\/p>\n
Butao on Thursday said he was uncomfortable to comment on players they are interested in, saying the Nomads policy is to only announce \u2018done-deals.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been with these boys for the last 12 months now and they share our wish that they be a permanent part of Be Forward Wanderers. Please advise the prices for the two boys so that we can make an immediate request for the funds from our sponsors,\u201d Butao wrote United on January 2, 2016.<\/p>\n
Butao said if Muhamad does not sign for the Nomads permanently, it would be due to United\u2019s reluctance, adding \u201che is not our player. At the end of the day, it is Blantyre United who have a final say.\u201d<\/p>\n
United technical director, Lawson Nakoma, said the players would decide where they want to sign. Sulumba yesterday said he was undecided on the two offers.<\/p>\n
Wanderers have already signed Rafik Namwela and Ernest Tambe from Wizards, who have also sold to Silver Brighton Munthali and Levison Maganizo.<\/p>\n
Wanderers are also eyeing Civo United\u2019s Nelson Kangunje, whereas Bullets are closing in on defenders Emmanuel Zoya and John Lanjesi also from the Lilongwe team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
