Some Super League teams risk being suspended from football and player transfers if they don\u2019t meet Club Licensing minimum requirements effective February 1.<\/p>\n
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) general secretary, Suzgo Nyirenda, issued the warning on Monday through a press release. The affected teams will also be barred from participating in pre-season bonanzas.<\/p>\n
Clubs are required to meet minimum criteria of the licensing namely; sporting, legal, infrastructure, administration and personnel before they get licences for 2016 season.<\/p>\n
Nyirenda said the teams are behind schedule to meet the requirements.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe current status shows that all teams are behind schedule in their submission of their documents, and Fam further warns that failure to submit necessary documents by January 31, 2016, will lead to sanctions, of which the most severe will be no participation in the 2016 football season,\u201d reads part of the statement.<\/p>\n
The clubs have until March 10, 2016 to submit players\u2019 contract and financial statements documents. However, some clubs are in race against time to recruit qualified coaches until February 29, 2016.<\/p>\n
Be Forward Wanderers general secretary, Mike Butao, was not available for comment on Tuesday, but recently asked Fam to implement the requirements in phases.<\/p>\n
Silver general secretary, Chimwemwe Mkhwimba, said the club is on track to meet the requirements.<\/p>\n
