{"id":16779,"date":"2016-01-19T08:24:42","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T06:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=16779"},"modified":"2016-01-19T08:24:42","modified_gmt":"2016-01-19T06:24:42","slug":"grieving-civonets-eye-pres-trophy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/01\/19\/grieving-civonets-eye-pres-trophy\/","title":{"rendered":"Grieving Civonets eye Pres trophy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Grieving Civonets have vowed to put behind their sorrow and fight for the Presidential national netball trophy title in honour of late coach Connis Mhone.<\/p>\n<p>Following Mhone\u2019s death last Monday, Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) shifted the national finals from last week to this week.<\/p>\n<p>Civonets senior player, Tina Kamzati, said they would pick themselves up and fight to honour Mhone during the finals to throw off at Blantyre Youth Centre on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, we are grieving because Connis was the hub of the team. She was supportive and accommodative to everyone. I am not saying this to impress, but it is the truth. We are still hurting inside,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Kamzati said it was the duty of senior players, including Jane Chimaliro, to motivate youthful ones such as Rose Mkanda to put up a spirited performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThose that have been following netball would agree with me that Civonets had recently made great strides under Mhone\u2019s guidance. It is therefore, important to use the structures which the coach put in place,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The Presidential trophy will attract 12 teams namely Kukoma Diamonds, Complex Tigresses, Thunder Queens, Blue Eagles Sisters, Civonets, Mafco Sisters, Lameck Queens, Mimosa Queens, Alliance Capital Stars, Prison Queens, Green Eagles and Young Sisters will compete for the Presidential championship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grieving Civonets have vowed to put behind their sorrow and fight for the Presidential national netball trophy title in honour of late coach Connis Mhone.
