Catholics in Mzuzu and Karonga dioceses are Friday expected to celebrate the life of Bishop Joseph Mukasa Zuza, who until his death in a road accident on January 15 2015, was Bishop for Mzuzu Diocese.<\/p>\n
Diocesan Administrator for Mzuzu, Father Michael Mughogho, is expected to lead the memorial mass at St. Peter\u2019s Cathedral from 9.30am while in Karonga Diocese, Bishop Martin Mtumbuka will be the main celebrant during the mass.<\/p>\n
Bishop\u2019s Secretary for Karonga Diocese, Father Joseph Sikwese, said the theme for the memorial mass is \u2018Take hold of eternal life\u2019.<\/p>\n
He said the ceremony will take place at St. Mary\u2019s Parish Church in Karonga.<\/p>\n
In Mzuzu, Parish Priest for St. Peter\u2019s Cathedral, Father Phillip Nkunika urged his congregants to come in large numbers to celebrate the life of their former bishop in a solemn Eucharistic celebration.<\/p>\n
\u201cFriday is a holiday. Let us come in large numbers. There will be one mass on this day,\u201d said Nkunika.<\/p>\n
The dress code is purple and Catholic Women Organisation will take charge of the event.<\/p>\n
Bishop Zuza died on his way from his home village to Mzuzu. The accident occurred along the M1 Road in Chikangawa Forest between Mzimba and Mzuzu.<\/p>\n
Zuza was well known for speaking out the truth. He died while serving the Catholic Church as Chairperson for the Episcopal Conference of Malawi. Since his death, Vatican is yet to identify his successor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
