{"id":16242,"date":"2016-01-12T08:30:10","date_gmt":"2016-01-12T06:30:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=16242"},"modified":"2016-01-12T08:30:10","modified_gmt":"2016-01-12T06:30:10","slug":"we-are-still-intact-young-generations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/01\/12\/we-are-still-intact-young-generations\/","title":{"rendered":"We are still intact\u2014 Young Generations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Forgotten raggae group Young Generations famed for the hit \u2018Afiti Opemphera\u2019 has said they are still intact despite being silent for some time.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s recent performance was during the late Evison Matafale memorial show at Chileka in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that some people think the group is \u2018dead.\u2019 We still exist despite that some members are in South Africa,\u201d said one of the members Jangis Khan.<\/p>\n<p>He said they have been working underground and that now they are ready with a new album titled <em>Mudzalira<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe biggest challenge for us now is that we do not have a manager. As a group we want a manager who will help us to move forward, we are not looking for money but ideas which can drive us forward,\u201d said the dreadlocked Jangis.<\/p>\n<p>He said the latest 12-track album has been recorded at Manzy K Studio in South Africa and New Dawn and Step Up Records in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou may recall that some members Haroon Khan, Tarik Khan and Richard Khan are in South Africa but they are still part of the group. So they always come out, for instance they have done two songs \u2018Nthiti\u2019 and Kusamva Kwathu,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Another member Chinsinsi Saka said it has taken them a long time working on the new album.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been a long road working on the album, we have had some people making promises to help us only to disappear and this affected us. All the same God has been faithful, we have worked hard for two years until the mission has been accomplished,\u201d said Saka.<\/p>\n<p>He admitted that the group was not that vibrant as it used to be in the past years and that this is why they want a manager to help them to put Young Generation back to the top.<\/p>\n<p>Jangis said that they also work with other artists including Nepman who they are set to feature in the new album.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are done with all the songs as I said and some of the tracks are already enjoying airplay but we are adding one song a remix of \u2018Jane\u2019 which we are featuring Nepman, Diktator and Annie Matumbi,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Jangis said this year they would want to give their best and hold live performances as well as produce music videos.<\/p>\n<p>He said that they have still maintained their style in the new album which has songs such as \u2018Linga,\u2019 \u2018Amatikonda,\u2019 and \u2018Mkazi.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Apart from <em>Afiti Opemphera <\/em>which put them to the limelight, Young Generations\u2019 other albums include <em>Chikondi Chanu, Chenjezo <\/em>and <em>Tate<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Forgotten raggae group Young Generations famed for the hit \u2018Afiti Opemphera\u2019 has said they are still intact despite being silent for some time.
