A reality show known as Rise Africa is on the cards and is expected to hit the screens later this year.<\/p>\n
The brains behind the reality show include Happy Saka and actress Susan Kamkosi Banda.<\/p>\n
Rise Africa Public Relations Manager Mercy Malinga confirmed the plans.<\/p>\n
She said the show which is organised by Inno Pictures in collaboration with other partners is aimed at providing solutions to everyday problems that Malawi and the African continent is facing.<\/p>\n
Malinga said Malawians should watch the space as the reality show to be hosted by C.O real name Code Sangala and Kamkosi Banda will hold auditions in Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre before kickoff.<\/p>\n
She said that the show seeks to entertain and educate the audience with its tailor made thematic content.<\/p>\n
Malinga said the show which will be cut into different episodes will contain a number of community based interventions on various issues that have hindered the country\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe show will pick nine promising candidates from the three regions of the country. Then the 27 candidates will come together, be put in groups and given tasks,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Malinga said this will depend on how well they have performed and that the audience will vote which group to be eliminated until the show will then remain with 10 contestants who will go into the Rising African House.<\/p>\n
She added that for the remaining four weeks, two contestants will be eliminated until the final two.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt will be up to the audience to decide who wins. We are putting up a huge prize which we will reveal later. Actually during the reality show we will bring people who are experts in different fields to judge and shed light on the facts,\u201d said Malinga.<\/p>\n
Malinga added:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe reality show will include themes such as what is Malawian? entrepreneurship, corruption, HIV\/Aids, cooking, religion and dancing innovations.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to Malinga, who is a renowned actress and among others stars in Choices, which screens on Malawi Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) and Zambezi Magic, Inno Pictures Inc is a non-governmental organisation which is a member of among others Film Association of Malawi (Fama) and Theatre Association of Malawi (Ntam).<\/p>\n
Established in 2006, the organisation specialises in culture promotion and human rights.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a lot of companies that are supporting this initiative, we are still discussing with others but it\u2019s a big project.
