The promotion also saw a rise in the number of SMS hits.<\/p>\n<p>The K20 million realised from the 2015 Super League season is a substantial improvement from the K16.3 million grossed in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Champions Big Bullets will get the biggest chunk\u2014K12, 704,025\u2014which also includes a K1.5 million bonus for managing to get 300,000 SMS hits during the promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets earned K9.3 million in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Be Forward Wanderers have realised K5.5 million through the promotion in 2015, while both Silver Strikers and relegated Dedza Young Soccer Saints have earned K1 million each.<\/p>\n<p>Red Lions have raised the least revenue of K15,000.<\/p>\n<p>TNM also rewarded top two fans who sent more SMSs. George Manjolo and Linje Kamwendo sent 1,950 and 1,852 SMSs respectively and they each received an LED Samsung flat screen.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets fan Ulemu Bakali also won the main prize of K200,000 for the month of December during the final draw held on Wednesday in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>TNM also awarded journalists for their role in disseminating information about the promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Lusayo Kanyika of Times Group won the print category followed by Solomon Manda of Nation Publications Limited.<\/p>\n<p>In the radio category, MBC\u2019s Frank Kandu beat Star FM\u2019s Richard Tiyesi to the award.<\/p>\n<p>Yamikani Simutowe of Nyasa Times was ahead of MBC\u2019s Patrick Lunda in the online category.<\/p>\n<p>Joy TV\u2019s Peter Fote won the Television award followed by MBC\u2019s Simeon Shumba.<\/p>\n<p>The category winners received Samsung Galaxy S4 Tabs while the runners-up received Huawei Android phones.<\/p>\n<p>TNM\u2019s marketing manager, Madalitso Jonazi, said the league sponsors were impressed with the 2015 Sapota Mapeto progression.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAmong other successes of this year\u2019s promotion were the supporters\u2019 engagement meetings where TNM interacted with various supporters\u2019 clubs to broaden their understanding of the promotion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, we could have done with greater participation by all the 15 teams that compete in the TNM Super League rather than the current scenario where the promotion is dominated by Bullets, Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jonazi pledged that the 2016 Sapota Mapeto Promotion would come back stronger with new innovations.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets\u2019 vice-treasurer, Alex Gondwe said the Sapota Mapeto revenue would help cater for the players\u2019 welfare during the off-season.<\/p>\n<p>The promotion gives supporters a platform to help their clubs earn revenue while also winning several prizes in incentives.<\/p>\n<p>To enter the promotion, supporters have to send an SMS of their team\u2019s code to 1515 using the TNM network.<\/p>\n<p>Each SMS costs K50 and K35 goes to the team.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The just-ended year\u2019s TNM Sapota Mapeto SMS Promotion has been the best of the three editions after grossing K20 million within six months.
