{"id":15985,"date":"2016-01-08T10:09:05","date_gmt":"2016-01-08T08:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=15985"},"modified":"2016-01-08T10:09:05","modified_gmt":"2016-01-08T08:09:05","slug":"wailing-brothers-ready-with-new-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/01\/08\/wailing-brothers-ready-with-new-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Wailing Brothers ready with new album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The revived Wailing Brothers which is spearheaded by Chokani Brothers of lead guitarist Takudziwani and drummer Paul has said they are ready with their new album titled <em>Unfinished Project<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Wailing Brothers was formed by Takudziwani and Paul\u2019s brother Elias before the group disbanded in 2000 following Elias\u2019 death in a car accident.<\/p>\n<p>A year later, Taku and his brother Paul along with some members of The Wailing Brothers, led by their cousin late Evison Matafale formed the Black Missionaries band.<\/p>\n<p>But having performed with Black Missionaries for years now, Takudziwani and Paul last year came out to announce that they were reviving Wailing Brothers to continue the journey that their brother started.<\/p>\n<p>The move has raised eyebrows from some quarters who feel the two are now moving out of Black Missionaries.<\/p>\n<p>But Takudziwani and Paul have maintained that they were still part of the Black Missionaries family only that with Wailing Brothers they were just continuing their brother\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n<p>They went on to release their music video last year off their incoming debut album titled \u2018Everything is Gonna Be Alright.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>And now they are set to launch the album.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s manager Chigo Gondwe Chokani, who is a wife to Takudziwani, said yesterday that the <em>Unfinished Project <\/em>album is ready to be sampled.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe band has worked very hard to put together this album and they have done well to tackle various issues such as human rights, poverty and political injustice. Lyrically the content is very relevant,\u201d said Chigo, a renowned poet.<\/p>\n<p>She said the album is now completed and that they were happy that the \u2018Everything is Gonna Be Alright,\u2019 is currently enjoying airplay in almost all local TV stations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe music video is also on YouTube with about 620 views and downloads in only one month. We are now preparing for the launch on February 26 in Blantyre, February 27 in Lilongwe and March 6 in Mzuzu\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n<p>Chigo then called for support from the corporate world ahead of the launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need support as we still need to print 10,000 copies of CDs we require and then getting equipment for the launches,\u201d said Chigo.<\/p>\n<p>She said that they will also be filming the three launches to package a live DVD of the band\u2019s music.<\/p>\n<p>The Wailing Brothers had their first performance in Mzuzu in November.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The revived Wailing Brothers which is spearheaded by Chokani Brothers of lead guitarist Takudziwani and drummer Paul has said they are ready with their new album titled Unfinished Project.
