{"id":15487,"date":"2016-01-01T10:09:59","date_gmt":"2016-01-01T08:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=15487"},"modified":"2016-01-01T10:09:59","modified_gmt":"2016-01-01T08:09:59","slug":"great-angels-choir-storms-mzuzu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/01\/01\/great-angels-choir-storms-mzuzu\/","title":{"rendered":"Great Angels Choir storms Mzuzu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After successfully launching their <em>Mwasankha Ine <\/em>DVD in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Zomba and Balaka last month where they pulled massive audiences, Great Angels Choir finally comes down to the heart of Mzuzu Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The group will perform at Mzuzu Boma Park which is also the climax of their tour.<\/p>\n<p>One of the group\u2019s members William Zonda said this is a special show in that they are performing for the first time in the New Year 2016.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our first show in the year 2016 and so we are happy to celebrate the New Year with fans in Mzuzu. We are looking forward to giving out our best and we hope people will come in large numbers just like in the previous launches in Blantyre, Zomba, Balaka and Lilongwe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Just like they have done in the other launches, Zonda said they will perform more songs from <em>Mwasankha Ine<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The other artists performing at the launch are Limbani Simenti, Donnex Muva, Steve Wazisomo Muliya, Violet Tengani Dumba, Martha Nthakomwa, Martha Kasambara and Kelvin Sato.<\/p>\n<p>The 10-track DVD was produced by John Nguluwe of Positive Arts and has songs such as \u2018Musalolele Mulungu,\u2019 \u2018Tadikira,\u2019 \u2018Mphamvu Ndilibe,\u2019 \u2018Opanda Dipo,\u2019 \u2018Kodi Alipo?,\u2019 \u2018Samadziwa kanthu,\u2019 \u2018Akubwera,\u2019 and \u2018Akuyimira Ndani?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Zonda said it took them close to nine months working on the DVD and that invested more money compared to their previous DVDs.<\/p>\n<p>The group released the album <em>Mwasankha Ine <\/em>which was produced by Joseph Tembo in November 2014 before launching it on January 1, 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Their other albums are <em>Mundifungatire <\/em>(2005), <em>Gwireni Dzanja <\/em>(2007) and <em>Ndiyende Bwanji released <\/em>in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>The Great Angels Choir started in the 1980s and so far has 20 members.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After successfully launching their Mwasankha Ine DVD in Blantyre, Lilongwe, Zomba and Balaka last month where they pulled massive audiences, Great Angels Choir finally comes down to the heart of Mzuzu Friday.
