Kamuzu Barracks coach, Kenwood Nkhoma, has attributed his team\u2019s poor showing towards the end of season to lack of commitment among some players.<\/p>\n
The soldiers have gone three consecutive games without a victory in the TNM Super League.<\/p>\n
Nkhoma Wednesday said he endured a tough experience fulfilling most games with a lean squad because the majority of the players were not reporting for training due unclear reasons.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think the team is struggling because some of the players are not ready to play for the team due to various reasons. Sometimes, I was having seven or eight players in training so it was difficult for me to prepare well for the games,\u201d Nkhoma explained.<\/p>\n
Former Flames midfield maestro, Davie Banda, Manase Chiyesa, Victor Nangwale, Mustapha Salimu, Amadu Ali, Sam Chibvunde and Kelvin Hanganda have not featured for the club in the past five games.<\/p>\n
Nkhoma further explained that the team needs a complete overhaul next season.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have submitted a report to management of the team that the majority of the players are excess baggage. We need to start a rebuilding exercise if we want to be a strong team next season,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Sources said Nkhoma has lost control of the dressing room.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt seems most of the players don\u2019t like him. There are some issues and I think some of the players don\u2019t want him to be the coach of the team next season,\u201d the source said.<\/p>\n
Under Nkhoma, Kamuzu Barracks have won twice, drawn two and lost three consecutive games.<\/p>\n
Kamuzu Barracks have already missed an automatic qualification to next year \u2019s Standard Bank Cup having finished the league on position eight with 36 points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
