National Bank of Malawi (NBM) on Saturday spoiled some of its outstanding employees with enviable prizes for their exceptional contributions to the bank in 2015.<\/p>\n
In the platinum category, \u00a0each of the three winners carted home US$1,000 (about K630 000) cash prizes and a fully funded holiday trip to Dubai with their spouses while in gold category, five members of staff won K125 000 each.<\/p>\n
NBM Chief Executive Officer George Partridge said the bank started the awards last year as one way of motivating the staff to give out their utmost contributions to the bank in their respective departments in order to help efficiency and growth of the bank.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf each one of us had contributed the way these awardees did the bank\u2019s performance would have been far much better than it has been during the year and l urge you all to follow what these awardees have done when we start the next year,\u201d Partridge told the audience.<\/p>\n
In an interview, he said some of the awardees have enabled the bank to curtail some syndicates worth millions of kwacha while others invented systems that have improved efficiency of the bank hence the recognition.<\/p>\n
Partridge said the bank will continue awarding excellent members of staff as it is the best way of distinguishing the best performing employees while encouraging others to do the same as the bank seeks highest level of performances by all the employees.<\/p>\n
Partridge also recognized efforts demonstrated by the bank\u2019s entire workforce that enabled the bank to be resilient to the tough operating environment during the year.<\/p>\n
The bank\u2019s staff members and their spouses were treated to dinner and performances by a dancing troupe, a Lilongwe-based acrobatic group, musician Lulu and later a disco.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
