{"id":14462,"date":"2015-12-17T19:39:51","date_gmt":"2015-12-17T17:39:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=14462"},"modified":"2015-12-17T20:09:24","modified_gmt":"2015-12-17T18:09:24","slug":"mourinho-gets-the-boot-but-has-been-chelseas-most-successful-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/12\/17\/mourinho-gets-the-boot-but-has-been-chelseas-most-successful-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Mourinho gets the boot, but has been Chelsea&#8217;s most successful manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chelsea have sacked manager Jose Mourinho seven months after he led the London team to a league and league cup double.<\/p>\n<p>In two spells at the club, Jose Mourinho has been Chelsea&#8217;s most successful manager, winning three Premier League titles.<\/p>\n<p>But a 2-1 defeat to league leaders Leicester on Monday left the team one point above the relegation zone.<\/p>\n<p>Have a look aback at some of Jose Mourinho&#8217;s most controversial moments as a manager in England, Spain, Portugal and Italy.<\/p>\n<p>Jose Mourinho first hit the headlines in the UK when he ran down the touchline at Old Trafford as Porto manager.<br \/>\nHis team had just equalised against Manchester United in the Champions League and beat them over two legs.<\/p>\n<p>His &#8220;up &#8217;em&#8221; attitude would annoy many a manager over the coming years.<br \/>\nBut after just a few months the head of Uefa&#8217;s referees committee Volker Roth had called the Portuguese coach an &#8220;enemy of football&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;d wrongly accused Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard of visiting referee Anders Frisk at half-time during their 2-1 defeat to the Catalan side in the Champions League.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;When I saw Frank Rijkaard entering the referee&#8217;s dressing room I couldn&#8217;t believe it,&#8221; he said at the time. &#8220;When Didier Drogba was sent off I wasn&#8217;t surprised.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He was fined \u00a38,900 and given a two-match touchline ban.<\/p>\n<p>A month later he was fined \u00a35,000 for calling Manchester United players cheats.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2005 he was fined \u00a375,000, for meeting then-Arsenal player Ashley Cole, without his club&#8217;s consent.<\/p>\n<p>Two memorable but controversial moments in his first spell at Chelsea came after Mourinho&#8217;s ban following that Barcelona match.<\/p>\n<p>He was given a touchline ban by Uefa for his team&#8217;s quarter-final against Bayern Munich &#8211; home and away.<\/p>\n<p>He was apparently smuggled into the home dressing room in the first leg in a laundry basket and then out again before the end of their 4-2 win.<\/p>\n<p>Chelsea fitness coach Rui Faria had also been spotted using an earpiece hidden under a woolly hat in the first half and then goalkeeping coach Silvinho Louro was seen going in and out of the dressing room in the second half.<\/p>\n<p>Jose Mourinho also had a go at then Tottenham coach Jacques Santini making his infamous &#8220;parking the bus&#8221; comment after a 0-0 draw.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chelsea have sacked manager Jose Mourinho seven months after he led the London team to a league and league cup double.
