{"id":14426,"date":"2015-12-17T11:50:05","date_gmt":"2015-12-17T09:50:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=14426"},"modified":"2015-12-17T11:50:05","modified_gmt":"2015-12-17T09:50:05","slug":"morgan-heritage-ticket-sales-start","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/12\/17\/morgan-heritage-ticket-sales-start\/","title":{"rendered":"Morgan Heritage ticket sales start"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the country looks ahead to the Jamaican reggae group Morgan Heritage performance on December 27 at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe, tickets are yet to start selling.<\/p>\n<p>But Born Afrikan Productions led by the country\u2019s South Africa-based music ian and promoter Born Afrikan real name Nelson Shawa said the tickets delayed because they were printed in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe printed the tickets in Canada and then they were shipped to Kenya before coming to Malawi. As I am talking to you now the tickets are in Malawi and will start selling by tomorrow (today),\u201d said Born Afrikan in a telephone interview from South Africa yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Some quarters were worried in that tickets have not yet started selling with the concert drawing closer.<\/p>\n<p>But Born Afrikan said all was well and Malawians should just look forward to the concert.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ready; everything is in its place. Morgan Heritage ready and can\u2019t wait to get to the stage. They have been to Africa and are always coming to Kenya so Africa is their home,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Born Afrikan also said that he is currently rehearsing and that he will perform with his band.<\/p>\n<p>Born Afrikan Productions Coordinator in the country Mphatso Chaluluka while agreeing that tickets have delayed said on Monday that people should not be worried.<\/p>\n<p>He said Born Afrikan Productions was a very serious and professional promoter and that as such, every move they make is a well calculated step.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople should not worry. The Morgan Heritage show will use a new ticketing system. The tickets will be in this week and will be available in all outlets specified in our pr omot ional communication,\u201d said Chaluluka.<\/p>\n<p>He then cal led on Malawians to always follow what was happening via their official websites, pages, and handles and desist from cheap hearsay from non-well wishers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the Morgan Heritage show they can check info on these pages \u201cMorgan Heritage Live in Malawi December\u201d, or The Royal Family of Reggae Morgan Heritage\u201d, \u201cBorn Afrikan Productions\u201d. Twitter handle @morganheritage will give them direct info from the artists themselves,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time that Born Afrikan Productions is hosting top artists in the country as last year they brought Jamaican artists Fantan Mojah and Luciano.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are also proud to announce that Morgan Heritage has been nominated for the 2016 Grammy Awards for their new album <em>Strictly Roots. <\/em>This should tell Malawians that Born Afrikan Productions is bringing them the best international artists on the international market right now,\u201d said Chaluluka.<\/p>\n<p>Morgan Heritage is a reggae band formed in 1994 by five children of reggae artist Denroy Morgan, namely Peter \u201cPeetah\u201d Morgan, Una Morgan, Roy \u201cGramps\u201d Morgan, Nakhamyah \u201cLukes\u201d Morgan and Memmalatel \u201cMr. Mojo\u201d Morgan.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mojo was recently in the country to assure Malawians of the concert and also donated footballs to Chipasula Secondary School in Lilongwe and also visited Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>The vocalist and percussionist also held a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>In two decades, Morgan Heritage Band have had a number of successful reggae albums.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from sharing the stage with Born Afrikan, Morgan Heritage will also share the stage with Chileka reggae group Black Missionaries and Soul Raiders Band.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the country looks ahead to the Jamaican reggae group Morgan Heritage performance on December 27 at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe, tickets are yet to start selling.
