{"id":14068,"date":"2015-12-13T08:13:37","date_gmt":"2015-12-13T06:13:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=14068"},"modified":"2015-12-13T08:13:37","modified_gmt":"2015-12-13T06:13:37","slug":"kenneth-kaunda-pays-tribute-to-kamuzu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/12\/13\/kenneth-kaunda-pays-tribute-to-kamuzu\/","title":{"rendered":"Kenneth Kaunda pays tribute to Kamuzu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former president of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda, on Friday visited the Mausoleum of Malawi\u2019s founding president Hastings Kamuzu Banda.<\/p>\n<p>Kaunda, who was accompanied by Zambia\u2019s High Commissioner, Salome Mwananshiku, arrived at the Mausoleum around noon.<\/p>\n<p>After alighting from his vehicle, he touched the head of one official at the mausoleum with his traditional white handkerchief, before proceeding to lay a wreath on Banda\u2019s tomb.<\/p>\n<p>His memories of Banda were summarised in the comments he wrote in the Visitors\u2019 Book: \u201cHK served Africa to the best of his life. We still remember in peace what he did for us all.
