{"id":13897,"date":"2015-12-11T08:41:56","date_gmt":"2015-12-11T06:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=13897"},"modified":"2015-12-11T08:41:56","modified_gmt":"2015-12-11T06:41:56","slug":"general-alliance-signs-contract-with-malcom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/12\/11\/general-alliance-signs-contract-with-malcom\/","title":{"rendered":"General Alliance signs contract with MalCom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of Malawi&#8217;s leading insurers, General Alliance Insurance Company has signed an agreement with MalCom which will see MalCom, operators of MobiMax, collecting insurance premiums on behalf of General Alliance.<\/p>\n<p>The MobiMax Charge Card enables the card holder to access goods and services even at a time when the card holder does not have money in the bank, as the card does not link to the cardholder\u2019s bank account.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the signing ceremony on Tuesday, General Alliance\u2019s Business Development Manager, Hastings Kapesa, said the development will enable MobiMax Charge card holders to buy insurance policies from the company.<\/p>\n<p>He said the agreement will also allow card holders to pay their premiums in instalments by debiting the card holder\u2019s account at discounted premiums.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe service will increase General Alliance\u2019s market share and reduce debt management headaches.<\/p>\n<p>The product is efficient and effective as it has been approved by the Reserve Bank of Malawi,\u201d said Kapesa.<\/p>\n<p>MalCom Limited Chief Executive Officer Chris Kanyuka said his company is excited about getting into an agreement with General Alliance that expands the MobiMax Charge card cashless transaction platform.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that with this arrangement, MobiMax will increase its number of card holders and thereby also increase the size of cashless transactions in Malawi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of Malawi&#8217;s leading insurers, General Alliance Insurance Company has signed an agreement with MalCom which will see MalCom, operators of MobiMax, collecting insurance premiums on behalf of General Alliance.
