Big Bullets have appointed last season\u2019s TNM Super League player of the season Fischer \u2018Anong\u2019a\u2019 Kondowe as captain ahead of the Caf Champions League campaign.<\/p>\n
He has replaced Henry \u2018Fantastic\u2019 Kabichi, who reports say has lost the armband after he became unpopular among Bullets executive members for demanding 60 percent of the TNM Super League prize money.<\/p>\n
Among other changes, vice-captain Sankhani Mkandawire has also been replaced by fullback Pilirani Zonda.<\/p>\n
Bullets general secretary Harold Fote confirmed the changes, saying they were based on the recommendations from the technical panel.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe technical panel met and felt that Fischer should take over the captaincy with Pilirani as his deputy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
When asked to confirm whether the changes were made following Kabichi\u2019s criticism of the executive, Fote could neither confirm nor deny it.<\/p>\n
Fote said Bullets were in the meantime training at the gym to regain fitness.<\/p>\n
\u201cOf course, our preparations have been affected by the rains and the players are just doing aerobics at the gym to stay fit,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bullets are preparing for Caf Champions League games against Fomboni, a team from Comoros Islands.<\/p>\n
The first leg is set for the weekend of February 13-15 in Comoros with the second leg set for two weeks later.<\/p>\n
Even though Bullets are without a sponsor, the team\u2019s officials are calm and have promised to unveil their potential sponsor at an appropriate time.<\/p>\n
Fote said they had already been in touch with travel agents to buy tickets for the team\u2019s trip to Comoros.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
