At the time when most private sector players in Malawi have described the year 2015 as a nightmare for business, one of the country\u2019s life insurance companies, Vanguard Life Assurance Company on Friday described business in the year just ending as good.<\/p>\n
Vanguard Life Managing Director Noah Mupfurutsa was speaking in Mangochi when the company awarded excellent members of staff and agents.<\/p>\n
He said proper planning by the company\u2019s management helped in easing some of the challenges.<\/p>\n
\u201c2015 was good for business on the part of Vanguard Life Assurance Company. We managed to meet our targets.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe hard working spirit of the members of staff also helped us to meet our targets and that is why we have brought our excellent members of staff and agents to the lake to celebrate their success,\u201d said Mupfurutsa.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, the Vanguard chief said he expects 2016 to be another good year for business.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe in our staff and agents. We have set ambitious targets for 2016 and we know achieving them will not be easy. But we believe that through their hard work, we will succeed,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Currently, Vanguard is Malawi\u2019s third biggest life insurance company.<\/p>\n
Mupfurutsa said the company has a vision of breaking into the top two in the near future.<\/p>\n
Among the awards given were, employee of the year, most disciplined employee, manager of the year, branch of the year, independent agent and coordinator of the year, branch manager of the year, team leader of the year and many others.<\/p>\n
One of the recipients of the awards, Thandiwe Nthekwe, thanked Vanguard for the prizes, saying they act as a motivating factor to work even harder next year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
