Big Bullets captain Fischer Kondowe has warned the club\u2019s management to avoid going on a shopping spree at the end of the season.<\/p>\n
With K500 million business deal from Nyasa Manufacturing Company expected to commence in January, Bullets have been linked with the signing of five players.<\/p>\n
However, Kondowe said Bullets should maintain the current squad that has defended the TNM Super League.<\/p>\n
\u201cNew players will struggle at Bullets. The fight for positions in the team is so stiff. To get into the starting line-up you really have to fight. I don\u2019t think any Jim and Jack can join Bullets now and earn a starting place,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kondowe has spent the better part of the second round on the bench as MacFallen Ngwira has featured regularly on the flanks.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs for me, it has been tough as well because I was also nursing an injury,\u201d Kondowe said without elaborating.<\/p>\n
The former Black Leopards player said Bullets must honour current players who have been with the club during its difficult financial period.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is a tendency for some players to rush to sign contracts with teams that are well sponsored. I urge our officials to stick to the current team,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Bullets general secretary, Titha Mandiza, said the People\u2019s Team executive had not yet made any plans for next season.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will discuss such issues at the end of the season when the executive meets technical officials. However, there are no immediate plans to ditch the current players,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
