Protea Hotels plans to expand its trade mark into the Central Region, by constructing a hotel in the next three years.<\/p>\n
Protea, one of the leading accommodation units in the country, is only available in Blantyre, trading under Ryalls Hotel.<\/p>\n
General Manager of Protea\u2019s Ryalls Hotel, Mischa Lehner, disclosed this on the sidelines of a cocktail the company organised for its Lilongwe customers on Friday.<\/p>\n
The event was meant to keep the customers updated on the refurbishments that re taking place at Ryalls Hotel.<\/p>\n
Lehner said plans are at advanced stage to expand Protea\u2019s footprints and construct a hotel with similar standard to Ryalls in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been doing processes like acquiring land and feasibility study. We will be constructing a hotel in Lilongwe with similar standards like the one in Blantyre,\u201d said Lehner.<\/p>\n
He said the business in the year that is coming to an end has been good with customer support despite the current economic challenges that have reduced spending.<\/p>\n
Lehner said the corporate sector is the one that has so far given the 4 star hotel much of the support describing the year as successful.<\/p>\n
The hotel industry is one of the industries that experiences slow business amid the economic woes the country is experiencing but according to Ryalls Hotel this has had a minimal impact on their business.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
