{"id":12803,"date":"2015-11-27T10:14:50","date_gmt":"2015-11-27T10:14:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=12803"},"modified":"2015-11-27T10:14:50","modified_gmt":"2015-11-27T10:14:50","slug":"sulom-rejects-wizards-fcs-request-for-change-of-venue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/11\/27\/sulom-rejects-wizards-fcs-request-for-change-of-venue\/","title":{"rendered":"Sulom rejects Wizards FC\u2019s request for change of venue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has rejected Fisd Wizards\u2019 request to have their match against fellow relegation strugglers Dedza Young Soccer moved from Kamuzu Stadium to Kalulu Stadium Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Wizards\u2019 chairperson Mike Tembo had written the Sulom secretariat on Tuesday to have the match moved to Nchalo which has been their home ground in recent matches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur team is able to play it\u2019s game and pull a win at Kalulu Stadium and any changes will be a challenge to the team as we will not be playing as a unit and thus it will be like we are away from our home ground, not mentioning that every game we are to play in our five remaining games is a crucial game for us to pull a win for our survival in the Super League,\u201d read Tembo\u2019s letter to Sulom.<\/p>\n<p>However, Sulom general secretary Williams Banda maintained that Kamuzu Stadium was the venue of the match Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe game remains at Kamuzu Stadium,\u201d Banda said.<\/p>\n<p>However, Wizards felt hard-done-by since a loss on Saturday would all but end their chances of survival.<\/p>\n<p>With two teams set to be relegated this season following Sulom\u2019s resolution to have 16 teams in the League next season, Wizards have their work cut out as they lay bottom with 18 points from 23 matches.<\/p>\n<p>After Dedza, they face Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers in matches they need maximum points.<\/p>\n<p>Epac are on position 14 with 22 points, Mzuni are on position 13 with 23 points, Airborne Rangers are 12th with 25 points while Dedza are on position 11 with 26 points.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe thought the home team has a say, as is always required that a team chooses a home ground and not imposing one on them. It is also reflected in the situation of Kamuzu Barracks when they thought they cannot continue using Dedza Stadium, their decision was respected and they have never had a game at Dedza again,\u201d Tembo explained in his letter to Sulom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wrote to request that we play our remaining games at Nchalo the same way KB did, but you have become so dictative in this situation as if it\u2019s happening for the first time.
