{"id":12791,"date":"2015-11-27T10:05:02","date_gmt":"2015-11-27T10:05:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=12791"},"modified":"2015-11-27T10:05:02","modified_gmt":"2015-11-27T10:05:02","slug":"time-to-shine-for-patience-namadingo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/11\/27\/time-to-shine-for-patience-namadingo\/","title":{"rendered":"Time to shine for Patience Namadingo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since he released his single titled \u2018Msati Mseke\u2019 and its music video, youthful musician Patience Namadingo has won the hearts of many people.<\/p>\n<p>The song continues to enjoy airplay on local radio stations whilst its music video is an anthem in many of the local television stations.<\/p>\n<p>During live performances where he has spiced up other shows, people have always requested for the song \u2018Msati Mseke\u2019 which he has at times performed it differently.<\/p>\n<p>Through the song, Namadingo has shown that he is making positive strides in his music career which started way back when he dropped his debut album titled <em>Goshen <\/em>and his second <em>Tili Ndi Yesu<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>But having enjoyed his single \u2018Msati Mseke,\u2019 as well as \u2018Macheza,\u2019 which he dropped recently, Namadingo makes a huge step to launch his third album titled <em>Lero <\/em>at Comesa Hall in Blantyre and then Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The singer and guitarist said if people have loved the two singles he has dropped, then they should brace for more goodies as he finally unpacks the whole album.<\/p>\n<p>Namadingo said he wants to help change the face of music in the country and that he is now focused on music which has a Malawian identity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I said, we can only excel in music and do well even on the international market when we do music that is Malawian, music which has an identity,\u201d said the singer.<\/p>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have musicians in the country who I am proud of and have inspired me but now as young people we need to help them out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although some people have had their own reservations on the content in the song \u2018Msati Mseke\u2019 as regards its content, Namadingo said he is grateful to people for the support.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy with the response two singles have received. For instance \u2018Macheza\u2019 in three days got over 7,000 downloads,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Namadingo said he has prepared well for the launch and that he would want to perform more songs, hence sharing the stage with only Faith Mussa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFaith has greatly inspired me to follow my roots and so I could not skip him on the launch. People have watched shows but this will be different, we will start at 7:30pm and finish at 11:30pm. Faith will start then I will finish,\u201d said the singer and guitarist.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that CDs will start selling on the day of the launch at K2,500.<\/p>\n<p>Other songs people are expected to sample in the album include \u2018Simusintha\u2019 \u2018Mawu\u2019 \u2018Ndili Mwana\u2019 \u2018Ndilembeni\u2019 and \u2018I Wanna Be.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis album is a coin with two faces, there are a lot of issues which I am talking about but the most important thing is that this is proudly Malawian hence the sound therein is related and the songs are all from one family,\u201d said Namadingo.<\/p>\n<p>The launch in Blantyre and Lilongwe is powered by Active A Records.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since he released his single titled \u2018Msati Mseke\u2019 and its music video, youthful musician Patience Namadingo has won the hearts of many people.
