A United Kingdom-based Malawian has launched a globally competitive Pan African online business directory and marketplace called \u2018Sort Africa.\u2019<\/p>\n
Founder and chief executive officer of Sort Africa, Themba Tembo, said the directory will serve as a platform where African businesses would become accessible to each other and to the rest of the world.<\/p>\n
He said Sort Africa was established by a group of Malawians and South Africans who had a desire to create a user-friendly source of business information for the continent.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe experiences in their native countries fuelled the passion to give businesses an opportunity to have creative work and talent,\u201d said Tembo.<\/p>\n
He said Sort Africa is for domestic companies as well as international corporations with offices based on the African continent.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo whether you are an accountant in Ghana, a hotel on Lake Malawi, or the African headquarters of Carlsberg, you should be able to list your business details here and showcase your products and services,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said the platform is available in a variety of languages and allows visitors from all over the world to search for businesses by industry, specialty or location; compare listing details and contact companies directly from their profile page at no cost to the customer.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor businesses, Sort Africa offers a unique platform for them to build an online business identity to reach new customers from across the entire continent and beyond thereby extending the boundaries of their individual niche markets and maximising their commercial potential,\u201d explained Tembo.<\/p>\n
Several Malawian companies have already connected to the platform to increase their online visibility and showcase their services and products on Sort Africa.<\/p>\n
One such company is Anna\u2019s Car Rental in Blantyre which is an upcoming company for the provision of reliable car rental services.<\/p>\n
