{"id":11878,"date":"2015-11-12T08:02:47","date_gmt":"2015-11-12T08:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=11878"},"modified":"2015-11-12T08:02:47","modified_gmt":"2015-11-12T08:02:47","slug":"patience-namadingo-returns-with-third-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/11\/12\/patience-namadingo-returns-with-third-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Patience Namadingo returns with third album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Youthful musician Patience Namadingo has soared since he released his single titled \u2018Msati Mseke.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The song continues to enjoy airplay in the local radio stations and its music video has also impressed many although others have had their reservations on its content.<\/p>\n<p>Namadingo has said he wants to help change the face of music in the country and that he is now focused on music which has a Malawian identity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs I said, we can only excel in music and do well even on the international market when we do music that is Malawian, music which has an identity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have musicians in the country who I am proud of and have inspired me but now as young people we need to help them out,\u201d said Namadingo.<\/p>\n<p>Having shown his focus through the \u2018Msati Mseke,\u2019 single and \u2018Macheza,\u2019 which was released recently, Namadingo is now ready to drop an album titled <em>Lero<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so grateful with the support which I have received from people since I dropped \u2018Msati Mseke,\u2019 and again I am happy with the response the other single \u2018Macheza,\u2019 has received. In three days \u2018Macheza,\u2019 got over 7,000 downloads,\u201d said the singer and guitarist.<\/p>\n<p>Namadingo will launch the album on November 28 at Comesa Hall in Blantyre supported by Faith Mussa before invading Capital Hotel in Lilongwe the following day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCDs will be sold during the launch at K2,500,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>With two singles already on the market which are part of the Lero album, Namadingo said the other songs people should look forward to include \u2018Simusintha,\u2019 \u2018Mawu,\u2019 \u2018Ndili Mwana,\u2019 \u2018Ndilembeni,\u2019 and \u2018I Wanna Be.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis album is a coin with two faces, there are a lot of issues which I am talking about but the most important thing is that this is proudly Malawian hence the sound therein is related and the songs are all from one family,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Namadingo said he will launch the album supported by Faith Mussa only because he is an inspiration to him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFaith has greatly inspired me to follow my roots and so I could not skip him on the launch. People have watched shows but this will be different, we will start at 7:30pm and finish at 11:30pm. Faith will start then I will finish,\u201d said the singer and guitarist.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The launch in Blantyre and Lilongwe is powered by Active A Records.<\/p>\n<p><em>Lero <\/em>is a 10-track album which has been recorded at Active A Records in Blantyre by Amos Mlolowah.<\/p>\n<p>Namadingo also revealed that he has formed his own three member band which includes him, drummer Mlolowah and lead guitarist Collen Ali.<\/p>\n<p>According to the musician, the band is expected to leave for South Africa today for a couple of performances and will be back on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Namadingo also hinted that he is working on a remix of \u2018Msati Mseke,\u2019 which he wants to work with reggae group Black Missionaries.<\/p>\n<p>The musicians\u2019 previous albums include <em>Goshen <\/em>which he released in 2007 and <em>Tili Ndi Yesu <\/em>released in 2010.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Youthful musician Patience Namadingo has soared since he released his single titled \u2018Msati Mseke.\u2019 The song continues to enjoy airplay in the local radio stations and its music video has also impressed many although others have had their reservations on its content.
