Evangelist Daniel Kolenda, a successor to prominent evangelist Reinhard Bonke, arrived in the country Wednesday, saying that his three-day Malawi crusade would win millions of souls.<\/p>\n
The American-based evangelist stressed that it was time for Malawians to realise that problems, including those the country was currently going through, could be solved with personal encounters with Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n
\u201cRighteousness exalts a nation; there are times in life when all solutions cannot be found, but when you encounter [leave everything in the hands of] Jesus Christ, you find solutions,\u201d said Kolenda, who leads a big evangelisation crew.<\/p>\n
He said Jesus was the one to be exalted and all miracles come from him.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am not here to introduce Kolenda [myself] but what Jesus will do for the country and Malawians; and through Christ the lame will walk, the dead will rise, and people who believe will get salvation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kolenda, who took over the mantle from Bonke seven years ago, said his predecessor [Bonke] has special love for Malawi and sent a message of love and spiritual wellness to Malawians.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was with him three days ago \u2026 he still cherishes his first evangelism rally many years ago. He says that has been an inspiration to our Christ for All Nations \u2013Cfan over the years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chair for the Advisory Board Members for the crusade, Archbishop Mark Kambalazaza, said the legacy that Bonke left in Malawi has sparked lots of expectation of the crusade that starts today.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know by promoting the Reinhard Bonke Gospel Crusades with Daniel Kolenda as the main speaker, a lot of people were expecting to see Bonke as well. But we should agree that time has passed and Bonke Ministry has gone through a lot of transformation, hence we now have Kolenda at the helm,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
