{"id":11427,"date":"2015-11-04T08:29:23","date_gmt":"2015-11-04T08:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=11427"},"modified":"2015-11-04T08:29:23","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T08:29:23","slug":"choices-screens-on-zambezi-magic-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/11\/04\/choices-screens-on-zambezi-magic-wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Choices\u2019 screens on Zambezi Magic Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As Malawians look forward to watching more of its content on DStv, Zambezi Magic Wednesday starts screening the country\u2019s soap known as <em>Choices<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Adverts have been flying on Zambezi Magic alerting people about the soap.<\/p>\n<p>This will be the first soap from Malawi to screen on Zambezi Magic since it was launched in July this year.<\/p>\n<p>The channel has so far only screened two movies from Malawi \u2013 <em>Seasons of a Life <\/em>and <em>The Last Fishing Boat <\/em>which were produced by film maker Shemu Joyah.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Zambezi Magic Channel Addiel Dzinoreva, who visited the country in September for discussions with the country\u2019s creative industry, said <em>Choices <\/em>is its very first drama licensed from the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an exciting and popular drama series from Malawi. This is a drama series set in middle class Malawi,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p><em>Choices <\/em>is a soap which features among others actors Ashukile Mwakisulu.<\/p>\n<p>The soap tells the story of four friends who get together to provide support, listen to each other, vent about life and love and have fun as they go through life\u2019s trials and tribulations.<\/p>\n<p>Choices start screening today from 18:00 hours.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have content that our audiences are proud of and can also identify with. It gives us such a pleasure to be able to present this amazing line-up that will continue to reflect the stories and different lifestyles of Malawians,\u201d said Dzinoreva.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Zambezi Magic is also set to launch a Spiritual Sunday programme for Southern Africa including Malawi starting this coming Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>According to a press<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>statement, this is a block of spiritual programming from around Southern Africa Spiritual which will be airing every Sunday morning starting at 8am and that it will feature different genres of Christian programming.<\/p>\n<p>The programming will include latest gospel music videos from different countries on a show called <em>Kuyamika \u2013 Voices of Praise <\/em>and a two hour Zambezi Sunday Service that will feature sermons from different churches.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand that our viewers in the Southern Africa Development Community (Sadc) region are deeply Christian and this is why we have come up with a content that caters for their spiritual enrichment,\u201d said Dzinoreva.<\/p>\n<p>He added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have an array of programmes that will include sermons, gospel music and magazine talk shows among others that will speak to their daily walk as Christians.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He said their aim is to expand with more exciting spiritual programming planned for 2016.<\/p>\n<p>MultiChoice Malawi Sales and Marketing Manager Chimwemwe Nyirenda said yesterday that this is a chance for Malawian gospel musicians to show off their talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor now we are calling upon gospel musicians to bring their music videos. The music programme will actually be followed by Zambezi Sunday service \u2013 sermons from different churches from the Southern African region,\u201d said Nyirenda.<\/p>\n<p>He said they are also urgently looking for church services sermons from Malawi.<\/p>\n<p>Nyirenda said this will give DStv subscribers an opportunity to worship together with Malawi churches and pastors.<\/p>\n<p>Zambezi Magic which seeks to give a platform to content from Southern Africa is available on DStv channel 160 to Compact, Compact Plus and Premium subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>Zambezi Magic recently also called for scripts from film makers including Malawi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As Malawians look forward to watching more of its content on DStv, Zambezi Magic Wednesday starts screening the country\u2019s soap known as Choices.
