{"id":11211,"date":"2015-10-30T07:14:22","date_gmt":"2015-10-30T07:14:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=11211"},"modified":"2015-10-30T07:14:22","modified_gmt":"2015-10-30T07:14:22","slug":"busy-signal-promises-fireworks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/10\/30\/busy-signal-promises-fireworks\/","title":{"rendered":"Busy Signal promises fireworks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamaica reggae musician Busy Signal has promised fireworks after making his much-anticipated arrival at Chileka International Airport in Blantyre on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The artist is set to headline Sunbird Sand Music Festival that starts Friday until Sunday at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima.<\/p>\n<p>He was given bouquets of flowers by one of the ladies soon after coming out of the airport before being interviewed by the press. He was led to a Range Rover with the personalised number plate \u2018Busy\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>He was driven to Mount Soche Hotel where a number of people also gathered to catch a glimpse of the musician, who looked composed and said with the warm welcome he had received, he felt at home.<\/p>\n<p>Busy Signal declared that there will be fireworks during his performance Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am ready; it\u2019s gonna be a blast and electric during my performance and so you have to be ready. I am not going to put up two percent, 50 percent, 60 percent; 70percent, 80 percent, 90 percent, 99 percent but it will be 100 percent. I am going to give my all during the performance,\u201d said the musician.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamaican singer also said that Malawians should forget all the speculation that he would not make it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am here Malawians; forget about the speculations which have been there about me not coming. I would like to that the companies which have made it possible for me to be here,\u201d said the musician.<\/p>\n<p>Busy Signal performed in Zimbabwe last Saturday where he also put up an electric performance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am here not because of the food, the drinks, the promoters, the organisers but I am here because of the people. The people are very important and that is why I will give it my all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The reggae musician said Africa was his motherland and thank it will always remain the best place to be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfrica is my motherland, this is my home, forget about what other people say about the continent but for me this is my motherland and I am happy to be here, I am happy to be in Malawi,\u201d said Busy Signal famed for the hit \u2018Reggae Music Again.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The Jamaican said he was yet to listen to more songs by local artists in the country but would love to do collaborations before he goes back.<\/p>\n<p>Busy Signal said to excel in music was about hard work and having passion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe secret to success in music is all about being yourself, learning from others, working hard and being humble,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Busy Signal also went to HS Winehouse in Blantyre on Wednesday with his band members where he went to chill out.<\/p>\n<p>Born on January 24, 1982, Busy Signal whose real name is Glendale<\/p>\n<p>Goshia Gordon is a past student of Brown\u2019s Town Comprehensive High School.<\/p>\n<p>Known as one of the artists leading the contemporary dancehall movement, Busy Signal has been a large part of the scene since 2003.<\/p>\n<p>His first hit single, \u2018Step Out\u2019, was one of the most popular dancehall songs in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>He was nicknamed Busy Signal by his friends because of the fact that he was constantly busy.
