{"id":11199,"date":"2015-10-30T07:03:10","date_gmt":"2015-10-30T07:03:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=11199"},"modified":"2015-10-30T07:03:10","modified_gmt":"2015-10-30T07:03:10","slug":"lambanie-dube-finally-out-with-knockout-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/10\/30\/lambanie-dube-finally-out-with-knockout-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Lambanie Dube finally out with \u2018Knockout\u2019 album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>C<\/strong>ontroversial reggae musician Lambanie Dube formerly Limbani Banda is finally out with his latest album titled <em>Knockout. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The reggae singer who has upped his live performances of late performing frequently with Lucius Banda said he is optimistic that people will welcome his new songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an album I have taken much time and I have a new style in which I am trying to fuse reggae and traditional dances like Manganje,\u201d said the dreadlocked musician.<\/p>\n<p>In the album, the musician has revisited his previous song \u2018Chisoni Nkumatenda,\u2019 and has come up with a dub version of the song.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just thought I did this song long-time ago and since people are still in love with this song I have decided to do a dub version,\u201d said the musician.<\/p>\n<p>While some quarters have said the musician has gone down since he released the hit \u2018Chisoni Nkumatenda,\u2019 Lambanie maintained that he is still among the best as far as reggae music is concerned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople might have their own say but if you follow all the albums I have released you will see that I have done well. And this new album Knockout has mature reggae songs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Lambanie recorded the 13-track album which he said also contains gospel songs at Green Arts and Ralph Records in Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course I should admit that I am not doing music the way I used to do in the past years because I am also involved in other things but I have taken my time working on all my albums. For instance on this one, I have taken almost four years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back to where he has come from, the reggae musician also known as \u2018Bush Doctor\u2019 said it has been a tough journey but he has not lost confidence.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am still walking just like Johnny Walker, I want to do more for Malawi and I am working hard to push my music and I am actually targeting recording in Jamaica,\u201d said the reggae artist.<\/p>\n<p>He said through the album he wants to change the world and that he wants Malawians to learn, jack up and be productive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to move from a jealousy nation to a productive nation and its high time we started believing in ourselves,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the songs in the album include \u2018Sonia,\u2019 \u2018Stuck on You,\u2019 \u2018Mulungu Wabwino,\u2019 \u2018Living in the Jungle,\u2019 \u2018Nthiti Yanga,\u2019 \u2018Wasintha Moyo Wanga,\u2019 and \u2018Babylon Kingdom.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>His other previous albums include <em>Yankho, Mark of the Beast, Chains and Shuckles, Umodzi ndi Mphamvu <\/em>and <em>World Crisi <\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Controversial reggae musician Lambanie Dube formerly Limbani Banda is finally out with his latest album titled Knockout.
