A window of opportunity has opened for musician Sangwani Munthali, who was expected to leave the country on Sunday to record his third album in Namibia.<\/p>\n
Sangwani, who has been out of the limelight, said in an interview in Lilongwe on Saturday that he has been busy working on new songs and that now he is ready.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes it\u2019s been sometime since I held live performances but sometimes it\u2019s good to take your time. But I am still around and music is still part of me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The singer came to the limelight having released his debut album Mahomwa Ya Fumu. <\/em><\/p>\n Many people appreciated his music and likened him to legendary Mtebeti Wambali Mkandawire.<\/p>\n He then went on to release his second album titled Themba <\/em>which did not do well on the market.<\/p>\n Sangwani said he was happy that a window of opportunity has opened for him to record an album in Namibia where he is expected to stay for close to three months.<\/p>\n \u201cI thank God for this opportunity which came up after some people listened to my music and they were impressed. All the songs are ready for the third album and I have titled it Revolution<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The musician was part of the artists that patronised the Standard Bank Blue Mingoli concert held at Bingu International Conference Centre in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n The other artists that patronised the concert ,which brought on board performances from South African singer Lira and the country\u2019s singer and guitarist Lulu, were Lucius Banda, Phyzix, Tay Grin and former Big Brother Africa (BBA) finalist Hazel Warren.<\/p>\n \u201cStandard Bank needs to be commended for this initiative and I hope it will open doors for local artists. Lira did well and so is Lulu.
