Urban musician Fredo Penjani Kalua better known as Fredokiss has said that he would want to do more with music by addressing social issues.<\/p>\n
The musician has been deemed controversial but some quarters but Fredokiss, who is a University of Malawi graduate said he is not controversial but rather his music delves into real issues affecting the society.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have heard people saying I am controversial but I find that to be subjective. One thing that is for sure is that most of my music addresses social issues that are usually relevant,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Fredokiss has just released a single titled \u2018Zautsiru,\u2019 through which he intends to bring the change.<\/p>\n
\u201cMusic is a powerful vehicle used to change things. As youths we have a responsibility to use our various talents to bring about change,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said \u2018Zautsiru,\u2019 is a song which is off his upcoming album stressing that it is discussing issues from a frustrated young person\u2019s point of view.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are several challenges that young people are facing and have not been tackled but this song is looking into all this,\u201d said Fredokiss.<\/p>\n
Apart from music, Fredokiss has also established what is called The Ghetto Shoulder Initiative which he said was started with an aim of reaching out to marginalised groups in the society.<\/p>\n
\u201cI started this to reach out to marginalised groups of our society. It\u2019s a non-profit making organisation which brings together young people for a good cause and we want to get as many young people to be involved,\u201d said the artist.<\/p>\n
With several singles to his credit, Fredokiss said he will continue to maintain his brand of music.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have my own style of music and this is the same style I want to maintain. I want to grow my music and for those who have listened to \u2018Zautsiru,\u2019 then they will attest that I am growing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Fredokiss started music in 2003 in a group before going solo and went to release songs \u2018Woza,\u2019 and \u2018Basi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
