FINE-TUNING—Bullets in action against JKU

Silver Strikers Ghanaian goal poacher Mike Tetteh returned from his loan spell at Mzuni to inspire Silver Strikers to a 4-1 thumping of Karonga United in a TNM Super League match played at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe Sunday.

Tetteh bagged a hat-trick to take Silver’s tally to 50 points from 25 games –just two short of leaders Nyasa Big Bullets.

The Central Bankers have also opened a five-point gap from third-placed Be Forward Wanderers who, like Bullets, have three games in hand.

Defender Mark Fodya scored Silver’s other goal straight from a free-kick while Karonga got their consolation through Sheriff Shamama.

The lakeshore side, with 27 points from 25 games, lost a midweek Fisd Challenge Cup game 2-0 to Civil Sporting Club before going down 3-1 to Masters Security in a league match on Saturday.

Silver Coach, Lovemore Fazili, was delighted: “This is one of the best games we have played in the second round. We might be underdogs in the title race but anything can happen.”

His Karonga counterpart, Christopher Nyambose, said his charges lost due to fatigue.

Action in the Super League continues this afternoon as relegation-threatened Mafco host Dwangwa United at Chitowe.

Civil take on Blue Eagles at Civo Stadium whereas Tigers and Nchalo United meet at Mulanje Park.
