ZANI—I will release new music once everything is ready

South Africa-based musician Zani Challe said Thursday she is happy to be recognised in the music scene through the several nominations she continues to receive.

Zani real name, Zani Chiumia, has received another nomination in the African Social Entertainment Awards (Ase Awards) whose grand finale will be held on June 30 2019 in South Africa.

“For now what I can say is that I will continue to work on my craft and push until eventually I get to the very top,” Zani said.

The musician famed for the hit ‘Single Tonight’ which she featured Nigerian star Patoranking has been nominated in the category of Best Female Artist.

“I am always grateful and humbled by the nominations. It pushes me to work harder and push to grow the Zani Challe brand to a point where she is recognized across the globe,” Zani said.

She said the nominations are also a testimony that female artists can excel in the music industry.

“We do not have to look down upon ourselves, we are capable of getting to the top in music. I am proud to be able to pave the way for other young aspiring youth back home. Being the first Malawian artist to be nominated across a few countries in awards such as African Muzik Magazine Awards and Africa Music Awards to a name a few is something huge,” the musician said.

Zani said she has new music at the moment but is taking her time especially putting things together including getting sponsorship.

“I will release new music once everything is ready but I am working hard and very hard for that matter,” she said.
