TNM Super League giants, Silver Strikers, have disclosed that they are pleading with top striker Khuda Muyaba to stay put at the club.
The development comes amid reports that the former Moyale Barracks marksman wants to terminate his contract.
The striker reportedly took to social media about his intention to quit the Central Bankers on undisclosed reasons.
Silver General Secretary, Lawrence Yobe, said the club was doing everything to keep Muyaba at the club.
“He is our player and we understand his situation. At the moment, we are talking to him almost every two hours. We are counselling him and it is our hope that he will resume training by next week,” Yobe said.
Efforts to talk to Muyaba proved futile Friday as his mobile phone could not be reached.
The marksman signed a three-year deal with Silver from Moyale last season.
Muyaba, alongside Nyasa Big Bullets’ Chiukepo Msowoya and Gastin Simkonda of Moyale, were dropped from the Malawi national football team squad which left yesterday for this year’s Cosafa Cup tournament scheduled to kick off today in Durban, South Africa.
Reports suggest that Muyaba was furious with the exclusion and accused Silver assistant Coach, Lovemore Fazili, of being behind it. Fazili is Flames interim assistant coach.
The striker did not feature for Silver during last weekend’s TNM Super League games against Mzuni and Masters Security.
Silver defeated Mzuni 2-1 at Silver Stadium before sharing spoils in a goalless draw against Masters at Dedza Stadium.
Muyaba joined Silver after resigning from the Malawi Defence Force as a soldier before quitting Moyale under controversial circumstances
