WENT AWOL—Chande (left) poses with Makawa

Masters Security Services FC head coach Abbas Makawa has confirmed that he is monitoring unsettled striker Jafali Chande.

The former Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers hit man was spotted on Monday at Masters FC training session at Lilongwe Golf Club.

Makawa said Chande was showing desire to revive his football career after spending a season in the wilderness when he unceremoniously left Wanderers.

“Indeed Chande is training with us. But it is not automatic that we will sign him. He has been out of action for quite a long time. He needs to work hard because we have several players here. We will see if he can join us or not depending on his performance,” Makawa said.

Interestingly, Makawa coached Chande at defunct Epac while his deputy Kananji coached him at Bullets in 2014 and 2015 before the player switched to Be Forward Wanderers.

Kananji and Chande were also together at Be Forward Wanderers in 2016.

Chande’s stay at Wanderers did not take long as he was not in good books with fellow players.

Last year, Chande boycotted training and games for Wanderers.

But when asked if he were serious about reviving his career, Chande said he was ready to bounce back.

“I did not announce that was retiring from active football. It was all to do with misunderstanding between me and my former bosses. If all goes well, I will be back on the field of play,” Chande said.

Chande was, some weeks ago, spotted training with Chipiku Central Region Premier Division side Mitundu FC.
