Lilongwe-based reggae musician Haxi Momba, who is now into gospel music after turning born again, will today launch his The Disciples band at Zambezi Open Theatre.

Momba, famed for Chibvumbulutso albums when he was in secular music, said the launch of the album would go with a pre-album launch.

The musician has a gospel album ready titled Here is The Messiah.

“As Disciples Band, we are the disciples of Jesus Christ and are there to minister the word of God. Therefore, we thought it wise to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the one who sent us, by launch by the band,” Momba, said.

The band and album pre-launch will be spiced up by performances from, among others, Vincent Kadzakumanja and Clinton Essau.

Meanwhile, Wendy Harawa, who also answered God’s calling recently, has announced that she will drop her new song ‘Mundisunge Ndinu’ today.

She said this is a Christmas present to people, hence releasing it today.

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. This is my Christmas gift to my nation and nations.

“My you get blessed with it this December 25 as it gets released from me to you,” Wendy said on her Facebook page.

This track will be her first since answered God’s call.

The musician and dancer has also worked on gospel songs such as ‘Ambuye Ndionetseni’, which is in her Nalliah album, and ‘Chisomo’ in which she collaborated with Lulu and Nigerian musician Jimmy D Psalmist.
