Silver Strikers are settling down well in Libreville, Gabon, where their Confederation Cup first leg preliminary round match against AO CMS has been moved to Wednesday.

The match is likely to be played on a wet pitch as Gabon is experiencing persistent rains. Silver will host the return leg a week later.

In an interview from Gabon Monday, Silver Coach, Lovemore Fazili, said weather in the Central African country is not favourable but his charges are determined to win.

“It is very hot and humid here. We are having rains everyday but the mood is good in camp. We expected such weather conditions and that is why we spent one week in Salima [District] for camp training. We have adapted well and are ready for the match on Wednesday,” Fazili said.

The Central Bankers arrived in Gabon on Saturday after losing 2-0 to Kenyan side Tusker FC in a practice match on Friday.

Silver last participated in the Confederation Cup some 25 years ago.

Malawi is also represented in the Caf Champions League, where Nyasa Big Bullets will face Kenyan giants Gor Mahia in the first leg of the Caf Champions League Wednesday.

In an interview from the East African country’s capital, Nairobi, Bullets Team Manager, James Chilapondwa, said his side is expecting a tough match in the first leg.

“It is raining here, with some intervals of sunshine here and there. But we arrived safely on Sunday night and we are continuing with our preparations,” Chilapondwa said.
