As the voter’s registration exercise continues in the country, various artists have collaborated in a song that encourages people to register and vote.

The song is targeting all music lovers.

The song has featured voices of artists such as Fredokiss, Ethel Kamwendo Banda, Episodz, Wikise, Temwa, Rina, Ace Dirty, AKontha Board, Lilia and Foursight.

Speaking in an interview, lead artist in the song Fredokiss revealed that the song is aimed at encouraging people to register.

“As artists we feel we have a responsibility to promote positive behaviour like registering to vote, verifying your information and casting a vote.”

“We want those who are eligible to vote to realise that they have a say and have power via exercising their right to vote which translates to choosing a leader of their choice,” Fredokiss said.

The award-winning hip hop artist said the song has been composed and done by a lot of artists with the aim of reaching out to many people in the country.

“We have more artists on this one because we wanted to reach out to a wider audience,” the artist said.

Fredokiss also indicated that he had registered because the process is fast.

“I managed to get registered within 10 minutes which is very fast as long as you have the National Identity card,” he said.

The song has been produced by Ghetto Gutter Entertainment and was released on October 17.

He also said video shooting will start on October 19 2018.

The song has been produced with support from UNDP, UKaid, Usaid, Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec), Irish Aid, Norwegian Embassy and the European Union.
