Lunguzi fights to retain seat, Mkaka challenges Ngozo

[dropcap]A[/dropcap]s we cover Saulos Chilima’s United Transformation Movement (UTM) rally at Migowi Primary School ground in Phalombe today, we are also keeping our eyes on the on going Malawi Congress Party  primaries taking place in Mzimba, Lilongwe and Dedza.

In the Dedza East primary, firebrand lawmaker, Juliana Lunguzi fights to retain her seat.

While party Secretary General, Eisenhower Mkaka, is challenging incumbent MP, Wintson Makala Ngozo, a long-time MP for Lilongwe Mpenu.  Ngozo is facing five other challengers.

In the Mzimba North East primary, deputy Secretary General, Catherine Gotani Hara battles it out with seven other aspirants for the seat.

The MCP primaries have been controversial and interesting so far with the likes of Joseph Njovuyalema losing to a young and upcoming politician in a shock result.
