Members of the Chilima Movement continue to drum up support for Vice-President Saulos Chilima ahead of next year’s elections.
The movement, led by Mulanje West Member of Parliament Patricia Kaliati, on Tuesday engaged some traditional leaders in Namitete to put up structures in readiness for the election campaign.
The group met chiefs and other people where they explained the need to support Chilima if he contests for the presidency.
Kaliati said Chilima, through the movement, would like to transform the country by, among other things, putting in place education policies that will promote standards in the country and create jobs for the youth
“These are only leaders who just wanted to hear from us. The response is massive, it’s just like bushfire. People want to hear what this movement is all about so that they can go out and tell people about it. Chilima is a product easy to sell,” she said.
According to reports, Chilima will make his stand known early July this year
