Gabriel Kambale wins Business Computer Services golf

Renowned golfer Gabriel Kambale underlined his top billing in the game to win a three-day Business Computer Services (BSC) golf championship at Blantyre Sports Club.

A field of 108 golfers took part in the competition, which ended on Sunday.

Kambale, playing off handicap three, had 217 gross to win the championship category.

“It was a challenging tournament but I remained focused to sail through on the greens,” he said.

Symon Moses, also playing off handicap three, grossed 227 to finish as a runner-up whereas Rashid Salim, playing off handicap four, grossed 228 to occupy third position.

Brigadier General Chikunkha Soko emerged winner in the A Division with a gross of 164. Adack Sailesi came second, having grossed 165 from a handicap of four.

Klema Hau, playing off handicap 15, finished third with 166 gross.

In the B Division, Chapusa Phiri, playing off handicap 21, had a gross of 182 to emerge winner whereas Willis Samati, with a similar handicap, ended on second position, having grossed 188.

Steve Kamanga, playing off handicap 18, scooped third position with 189 gross.

BCS management had a separate category for Professional Golfers Association of Malawi golfers to make the tournament more exciting.

Paul Chidale won the professional section with 220 gross whereas Adam Sailesi was second with 225 gross.

BCS Business Development Manager, Chimwemwe Chimwaza, said they were impressed with the turn up of golfers.

“We, as a company, specialise in total enterprise solutions, mostly on HP and Dell Enterprise platforms using open base environments such as oracle. We sponsored this championship to give back to the community we interact with,” he said while also pledging continued support.
