Lilongwe-based reggae group, Soul Raiders, has said their performance at Premier Lodge, Chileka, in Blantyre marks the hosting of more gigs for them.
Soul Raiders performed in Blantyre after a long time. The band received support although it failed to attract a huge audience.
“We are thankful for the support we got and we can rightly say that this as a successful tour of Blantyre,” Soul Raiders’ member, Prince Martin, said.
Prince Martin added: “We want to thank Green Shelter Club under Chiko for facilitating our trip financially, in addition to the Team Entertainers offer. We are eyeing cockpit next. Those who can assist with bookings, please secure a date in July,” he said.
The soft-spoken singer said they were also checking with Mibawa to see if they can honour their long-time invitation.
“We tried our best to give out good sound. We also regret the absence of other members such as Marcus,” he said.
The reggae outfit showed potential in its reggae vibes although they have to work on their lineup.
Some of the acts who performed were placed at the end, which lowered the show’s tempo and this was after Prince Martin had uplifted the gig.
Prince Martin admitted they have not done enough, in terms of performing in places outside Lilongwe, but was quick to say the journey has started.
The group entertained people with reggae songs originally done by artists such as Bob Marley. They also had time to offer their own songs such as ‘Patse’.
