Be Forward Wanderers veteran midfielder Joseph Kamwendo has said he is puzzled by the Nomads’ failure to beat their arch-rivals, Nyasa Big Bullets, in the TNM Super League in recent years.
Kamwendo made the remarks on Wednesday ahead of Saturday’s first-round meeting against Bullets at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
The left-footed attacking midfielder believes that time has come for Wanderers to end their winless run against Bullets in the league.
Both teams have six points from two opening games of the league, but Kamwendo believes the giants’ form will not have an impact on the game.
“When we meet Bullets, we always play for pride. But our recent results against Bullets in league matches have not been that good. We have intensified our preparations, knowing that we are going there as underdogs.
However, we are determined to win this game,” Kamwendo said.
Bullets’ veteran winger Fischer Kondowe has warned the Nomads to expect a tough ride tomorrow.
“I know what the Nomads are up to. They want to assign defenders [left-backs] Ted Sumani and Francis Mlimbika so as to minimise my runs, but they are just wasting time because I have an answer for every plan they have,” Kondowe said.
