Fans’ promotion spices up Carlsberg Cup

Carlsberg Malawi has yet again spiced up this year’s competition after launching a promotion for supporters.

The promotion will see supporters winning various regalia in the on-going cup.

Carlsberg Malawi Senior Brands Manager- Alcoholics, Twikale Chirwa, said they have organised the promotion in appreciation of the supporters’ role in the cup.

“We thank all the stakeholders for helping us in our objective of football development. We look forward to exciting football and also discovering new talent to add to the football development agenda that includes scouting players for the national team.

“We also have a commercial objective, which is, first all, to develop the social-economic fabric of football loving Malawians, but also develop our Carlsberg brand. At this stage, we will be launching a promotion whereby we will be giving out various Carlsberg regalia, match tickets and also merchandise to everyone,” Chirwa said.

Football Association of Malawi (Fam) General Secretary, Alfred Gunda, said they were happy with the progress of the competition.

Meanwhile, three all- TNM Super League teams’ fixture will light up the round of 32 matches for the cup.

The round of 32 and 16 draw took place at Fam’s Mpira Village in Chiwembe Township, Blantyre, on Tuesday.

The draw paired Nyasa Big Bullets against fellow strugglers in the Super League, Civo Sporting Club.

In other all-Super League affairs in this round, Red Lions will entertain Mzuni FC whereas Premier Bet Wizards and Dwangwa United will also meet.

Other Super League sides breathed a sigh of relief after being drawn against lower league sides or social teams.
