NYASA Big Bullets have received a timely boost ahead of their TNM Super League assignments this weekend following the clearance of their new signing Nelson Kangunje.
World football governing body, Fifa, has cleared the player, Football Association of Malawi Transfer Matching System Manager, Casper Jangale, and Bullets General Secretary, Albert Chigoga, have confirmed.
However, as we went to press Bullets were waiting for a nod from Kangunje’s former Mozambican side Costa do Sol before he could play. The People’s Team signed the former Civo United attacking midfielder on a two -year deal.
Kangunje, who is capped twice, terminated his contract with Costa do Sol, claiming they did not honour his contract. Bullets have been sweating over Kangunje’s clearance as the window for international transfers closed. However, Jangale said Fifa cleared Kangunje outside the window.
“We are just waiting for our friends in Mozambique to have a look at Fifa’s clearance and proceed to tell Bullets to use him. Surely, he will be on the pitch either on Saturday [yesterday] or Sunday [today],” Jangale said.
Chigoga said Kangunje will add value to the club. Bullets played Blue Eagles yesterday at Nankhaka Stadium in Lilongwe and take on Masters Security in Dedza today
