Fam warns Simplex Nthala

Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has advised goalkeeper, Simplex Nthala, to wait for the next transfer window before quitting Masters Security FC.

The former Ferroviario de Nampula shot-stopper dumped the newly-promoted TNM Super League side, a month after joining them, citing unpaid dues.

Nthala, who joined Masters in February as a free agent, claimed that he was yet to sign a contract with the Super League rookies.

Last week, the 29-year-old left Lilongwe for Blantyre amid reports that he was set to reunite with Be Forward Wanderers.

Fam Facility and Transfer Matching System Manager, Casper Jangale, said no player can just dump a team anyhow.

“I do not want to comment much on that issue. Such a thing cannot happen unless there is proper determination [for a player to leave a club for another]. Otherwise, in our Domestic Transfer Matching System it is already indicated that he is a Masters FC player.

“If he wants to leave, then he has to wait for the next transfer window, which is somewhere around mid-season in August,” he said.

It is reportedly that Nthala is bitter with 2016 Central Region Premier Division champions officials for failing to pay his signing-on fees.

Masters Security FC will get their Super League debut away to Dwangwa United on May on May 6.
