As part of creating a link between nominees and fans, organisers of the Nyasa Music Awards have planned an interaction at Dusk Till Dawn in Mandala, Blantyre on Friday.
The organisers said the gathering is an opportunity for the fans to get to know the artists.
The platform will also be a chance for people to engage with the organisers and ask them questions related to the inaugural event.
The Nyasa Music Awards will be held at Comesa Hall in Blantyre on May 5.
“We have made remarkable progress as voting has started. Everything is in place and we decided to bring the fans together so that they should know more about the voting procedure and the ticket sales,” said one of the organisers of the event Chifundo Maganga.
He said patrons should expect so much fun tomorrow.
“We want to do these awards differently. We organised two parties few months ago and the interaction on Friday (tomorrow) is an opportunity for the fans to understand what we intend to achieve,” Maganga said.
There are 18 categories in this year’s awards while an honorary award will be given to Jai Banda commonly known as Mr Entertainer, who has contributed immensely to the growth of the music industry in the country through Entertainers Promotions.
Nyasa Music Awards is also giving an opportunity to entrepreneurs, individuals and companies to sponsor the categories. The minimum for each category is K100,000 and the sponsor will hand over the award to the specific category sponsored.
“We want to make the awards more inclusive that is why we decided that individuals, entrepreneurs and companies should have a chance of sponsoring any of the categories,” Maganga said.
