Super League returnees, Blantyre United, have suspended top striker Brown Mizeyi and Yamikani Tambala on disciplinary grounds.
Blantyre United general secretary, Anthony Kafuwa, said the two absconded training sessions and friendly games.
“They have been absent without proper communication to the panel hence the suspension. We are very strict on disciplinary matters. We cannot afford to go back to the Super League with players that lack discipline,” Kafuwa said.
He said several other players have also been punished for indiscipline.
Kafuwa said the team has been beefed up with the coming of some new faces who are hungry for success.
“We have newcomers who are doing very well and we hope to bank on them even though we will also need input from experienced players like Mizeyi,” he added.
Blantyre United returned to the elite league after emerging champions of the Southern Region Masters Security League last season.
The team’s coach, Leo Mpulula, is renowned for strictly enforcing discipline and good conduct among his players.
